2 Ways you need to be present
1. During the round: Under stress, lapses in performance occur when a player allows his mind to project ahead onto what is about to happen.
Or onto what has already happened. Hence, staying mentally in the present is the key to being focused during a round of golf.
Many athletes often refer to this as being in the zone.
The zone is when during the round the golfer stay's present and plays 1 shot at a time.
2. Technically : Many golfer's tend to lift their head during the swing which can also be interpreted as a sign that the golfer is not present but in the future.
Instead staying in the contact zone with gaze and head control provides an extended period of focus and control.
